Our Story
Gigi Mettelus, Founder Of Sober Dreams struggled with alcohol abuse after the unexpected death of her brother, thrusting me into a downward struggle that, at the time, seemed insurmountable.
In the aftermath of this profound loss, I found myself navigating unfamiliar terrain—grief. It was my first encounter with the deep ache of losing a family member, Recognizing the unique trauma associated with such a loss, she found herself at a crossroads where the weight of sorrow threatened to overwhelm her, leading her down a perilous path
As she grappled with her own healing journey, the founder discovered the crucial importance of proper coping mechanisms. The stark realization that a deeper understanding of grief could have spared her from the clutches of alcohol abuse became the catalyst for the birth of Sober Dreams.
The organization's purpose, shaped by the founder's personal odyssey, has a dual focus: to educate others on the nuanced nature of grief and trauma, equipping them with tools for healthy coping, and to extend a compassionate hand to those already entangled in the web of addiction. By openly sharing her story, the founder aspires to prevent others from succumbing to similar struggles and to provide unwavering support to those presently battling addiction.
Sober Dreams is not just an organization; it's a lifeline woven from the threads of personal experience. Together, let us turn the pain of loss into a force for prevention and healing. This is our story—a story of resilience, education, and the unwavering commitment to helping others find their way to sobriety.
